Review Thermal Soil RemediationDirect Fired Soil Remediation Plants Have a Lower Fuel Cost than Indirect Fired Plants
Tarmac Direct Fired Soil Remediation Equipment
Direct fired soil remediation plants have a lower fuel cost than indirect fired plants. Tarmac designs direct fired plants when hydrocarbon levels are low. Each Direct Fired Thermal Soil Remediation system that Tarmac builds can be designed for light or heavy hydrocarbon contaminated soil.
1.
Direct fired for LIGHT HYDROCARBONS ONLY
- These are short hydrocarbons like pcb, gasoline, and jet fuel contaminated soils.
- Gas flow of: DRYER, BAGHOUSE, OXIDIZER.
- Any heavy hydrocarbons will condense in the baghouse and you will have a fire in the baghouse. To use a light oil direct fired system, you must have 6% hydrocarbon or less. No heavy hydrocarbons.
2.
Direct fired for LIGHT AND HEAVY HYDROCARBONS
- These are also called long chain and short chain hydrocarbon plants. The same light oil soils can be run but would also include coal tar, heavy fuels, grease, and other long chain hydrocarbons.
- Gas flow of: DRYER, OXIDIZER, COOLER, BAGHOUSE.
- When running heavy hydrocarbons, the oxidizer is in front of the baghouse. In this flow the hydrocarbons combust before reaching the baghouse. A cooler must be added to cool the gasses from the oxidizer from 1400ยฐF to 350ยฐF before reaching the baghouse. This is the type of plant you need if you have any heavy hydrocarbon.
Both these types of plants can be equipped with an acid gas scrubber if needed for high Sulphur or Chlorine gasses.
